The first event dedicated exclusively to sparkling wines in Portugal, once again rewarded the first of its kind, the Madeiran ‘Espumante Terras do Avô Super Reserva, a year older but with the same quality according to the jury of’ Brut Experiences 2019 ‘, in Lisbon, which performed blind test on May 17 and today announced the winners among 107 sparklers from six countries.
In this second edition, the “event that celebrates the essence of national and international sparkling wines, where people can contact some of the best producers and taste this type of wines, feel their characteristics and what distinguishes them”, the distinction by the second year of the same Espumante Terras do Avô, from the Caldeira family, from Seixal, is the effective recognition of the quality of this product made in a traditional way with the varieties Verdelho and Sercial.
Produced on the north coast of Madeira, with a 3-year internship in the bottle, he won the first gold medal in ‘Brut Experiences 2018’, for a year later to regain the same distinction of ‘a great sparkling wine’, as his promoter Duarte Caldeira.
