A police officer was found with gunshot wounds in the courtyards of the PSP fleet at Madeira Airport.
The 40-year-old officer was not on duty and went to the airport’s PSP station early in the morning. He was found at 3:30 am, on the ground with a severe head injury caused by a shot which would have been done by his own doing.
The Santa Cruz Municipal Firefighters were alerted to this situation and provided assistance to the victim, along with the Rapid Intervention Medical Team.
The police officer is hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition and on a reserved prognosis.
