Thanks to Magno Jardim who has sent me this information about those settlements on the top of the island that they call it “Currais” that they say were meant to keep the Cattle, but there are study’s and proof that they are much older than the 15th century when the Portuguese first arrived to Madeira Island.

Magno Jardim and David Francisco are doing a photographic survey of Neolithic remains in Madeira. A field work to safeguard the heritage and discover characteristics in common with other studies of the time.

Study’s so far point to around the 5th century before Christ.
