The PSP detained a seemingly drunk passenger who caused riots aboard a TAP plane from Lisbon.
The arrest occurred when the plane landed at Madeira International Airport earlier this afternoon.
According to David Sousa, who was on the same plane, the man appeared to be drunk and began annoying two people sitting next to him. The man exalted himself and was eventually immobilized by the passengers themselves in mid-flight.
The passenger, David Sousa who recorded the moment in video, also said that a member of the crew chose to tie his hands with a rope in an attempt to calm him, but the individual managed to break free and start confusion on board. The passenger is believed to be Spanish or Venezuelan.
After the landing, when the PSP entered the plane, “everyone gave a round of applause.”
