US billionaire Gordon Getty, 85, arrives in Madeira on Saturday at 6 pm aboard his private plane, one of the few Boeing 727s still in operation.
The investor, on Forbes magazine’s list of the 400 richest US citizens, is touring several European wine destinations. After passing through the city of Porto, he landed today in Zaragoza, Spain, where he will stay until late Saturday afternoon, when he boards his plane to Madeira. This trip is accompanied by his wife, Ann, and eight other guests. Spanish newspaper La Rioja points out that Gordon Getty has investments in the wine sector through the PlumpJack group.
Gordon Getty is one of five sons of oil magnate Jean Paul Getty, who died in 1976.
