An 88-year-old woman was forgotten aboard a Transavia flight.
Coming from Paris, Maria Ferreira should have landed at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in Porto, but was forgotten by the crew on the plane and eventually came to Madeira by mistake, reports the Morning Post, quoted by the Observer.
Both you and your family experienced moments of distress, and Transavia later referred to the clarification of this episode which took place on 28 July.
According to the same source, Maria Ferreira embarked in Paris at 06h30 and arrived in Porto at 07h45. The flight continued to Madeira with her on board and the passenger only returned to Porto at 5 pm, with the passenger spending a total of nine hours.
The old woman was in a wheelchair, flew alone and was going on vacation with her family in Espinho. She herself reported to CM that her daughter had recommended her to a hostess. As soon as she arrived in Madeira, Maria Ferreira panicked because she didn’t know where she was.
“When I arrived, the passengers all left and I was alone waiting for the hostess. After a while passengers began to enter and the plane took off again. Back in Madeira, the hostess told me she had to leave and that’s when I realised I wasn’t in Porto, ”he told CM.
The family was worried when Maria Ferreira did not land in Porto and only after “several hours of despair” received a call from PSP Funchal saying that the elderly woman was in Madeira.
