The Machico Public Security Police in Madeira arrested a man who tried to rob a bank branch twice in the eastern parish of Caniçal within five days between August 1 and 5.
“This is a 38-year-old man who broke the door glass with a concrete brick and was caught in the act,” a PSP source said today, saying it was handed over to the judicial authorities.
Following the process, the man was taken to the Central Hospital of Funchal for a psychiatry consultation and was hospitalised.
On August 1st, the first attempt was made to rob a bank counter in Caniçal, a parish of Machico, during the day, and the robber fled without realizing the objective.
The second attempt took place at dawn on August 5 and the man was eventually arrested by PSP.
