By 5:20 pm Friday evening precipitation had already been recorded in seven of the 20 weather stations in Madeira. According to the director of Funchal Meteorological Observatory, Victor Prior, until Sunday there should continue to be more frequent and occasional rain showers at times.
Nevertheless, in the coming days, in the coastal regions of the Madeira Islands and Porto Santo, maximum temperatures are expected to vary between 26 and 29 ᵒC. As for the minimum temperatures will range from 20 to 24 ᵒC, with 24ºC expected to be recorded at dawn. Note for the minimum daily temperature of 19.4 ° C in August.
In mountainous regions (Areeiro) the maximum temperatures should vary between 20 and 22 ᵒC and the minimum between 12 and 15 ᵒC.
Wind increases in intensity from tomorrow
By late Saturday morning, the wind is expected to increase in intensity and from Sunday onwards it should be, with some persistence, moderate (20-30 km / h) or punctually strong (30-40 km / h) in mountainous regions and areas most exposed to north or northeast winds, with gusts in the order of 60 to 70 km / h.
High humidity until sunday
The director of the OMF also stresses that the relative humidity values should remain very high until Sunday. Over the next few days, relative air humidity is expected to fall by about 10% in coastal regions, which is associated with a north or northeast wind rotation.
Lastly, Víctor Prior points out that the seawater temperature on the south coast of Madeira will be in the order of 23 ᵒC and the Ultraviolet Index very high throughout the Archipelago, ie between 8 and 10.
