The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo and Braga on mainland Portugal are now under yellow warning due to the forecast of persistent and heavy rain that could be accompanied by gusts of wind and thunderstorms, announced the IPMA.
According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the warning of bad weather, valid from 20:05, in those three districts until 03:00 on Friday.
The IPMA also issued today, at the same time, the yellow warning for the north and south coasts of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo, but due to the persistence of high values of the maximum temperature.
The warm weather warning on the archipelago is valid until 21:00 on Wednesday.
