The body that was found in the Funchal marina last Wednesday has already been identified by the Judiciary Police.
According to a family member, this is a nun who belonged to a congregation in Funchal, but the contours in which the death occurred are unknown. The woman, aged between 50 and 60 years old, came from Câmara de Lobos and entered religious life since she was young.
The same source told Diário Notícias that her funeral will take place tomorrow at Quinta das Rosas, at 12 noon.
The family admits to being “shocked” by what happened.
It is recalled that, as was reported in the print edition last Wednesday, the woman’s corpse was removed from the sea by a vessel from the Funchal Port Authority. The body was taken to the Funchal Forensic Medical Office to be autopsied and to be identified.
As it turned out, there is no suspicion of crime.
