So I have missed all the rain in Madeira today. My first holiday for 18 years, I travelled to London Friday evening, and it’s been a fantastic day in London with clear blue skies today. Monday I may or may not be off to Croatia for a week, in the hands of Thomas Cook, but the UK has a week of rain forecast for tomorrow, so it looks pretty depressing.
This Saturday was rain in almost all of Madeira, and until 19h00 it did not stop raining in Santa Cruz / Airport. In Prazeres was the highest rainfall recorded, being the only one of the two dozen weather stations of the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) to reach yellow level (11.8 mm / 1h). In the rest, the west zone, between Quinta Grande and Ponta do Pargo, registered more precipitation.
