Madeiran sailor João Rodrigues made the windfoil board crossing between Madeira and Porto Santo. What initially began as a test of sea conditions, as the crossing had been cancelled twice already, if actually turned out to be the crossing between the two islands.

In this case, the Madeiran made the time of 3 hours and 15 seconds on the way to Porto Santo, then making the time of 1 hour and 20 on the return, taking almost five hours in the whole route, as João Rodrigues did the Madeira – Porto Santo – Madeira route.

It should be noted that this historic adventure served as a tribute to the 600th anniversary of the Discoveries of the Madeira archipelago.
