A yellow weather warning is in effect for warm weather for the north and south coast of Madeira, in effect from 9 am to 9 pm tomorrow. Part of the municipality of Santa Cruz, the municipality of Machico and Porto Santo are at very high risk of fire and in Funchal the maximum temperature should rise today to 29ºC, remembering that it is still summer.
For today for the archipelago the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere predicts light or cloudy skies, with periods of greater cloudiness in the northern slopes until mid-morning and from late afternoon. Wind will be light to moderate from North / Northeast, sometimes blowing strong, up to 40 km / h, in the highlands and the far east of Madeira. It is expected a slight temperature rise that extends also to Funchal, where the day beyond hot will be generally clear skies and light wind.
In addition to the 29ºC maximum in Funchal, 29ºC are expected at Lugar de Baixo, 28ºC in São Vicente, 27ºC in Camara de Lobos, Machico, Santa Cruz and Ponta do Pargo, 26ºC in Porto Santo and Santana, and 25ºC in Caniçal and in Porto Moniz.
The ultraviolet index is very high on both islands, 8 on a scale of 1 to 11+.
As for the sea, the South invites to go bathing, with waves less than 1 meter. On the north coast count on waves of 1.5 to 2 meters in height. The seawater temperature is 22 / 24ºC.
