The 6th of October marked 20 years of the death of Amália Rodrigues – the biggest name in Portuguese culture. Fado singer Alexandra recalls the unforgettable Amália Rodrigues in a show under the ‘Fado Funchal’ initiative, with a concert scheduled for 9 October at 9 pm at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater.

The singer and “disciple” is holding a series of concerts in honour of Amália Rodrigues this year, where spectators are invited to revisit the greatest hits by the voice of the one who is admittedly the heir to the true way of singing fado.

On stage to accompany Alexandra, were invited some regional artists, namely the musicians Pedro Marques (Portuguese guitar), Emanuel Faria (classical guitar) and Miguel Marques (bass guitar) as well as the dancers Juliana Andrade and Nuno Velosa

Tickets are for sale at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater and ticket line. They cost 10 euros until 8 October and 15 euros on 9 October.
