The Friends Association of the Madeira Conservatory of Music, starts its season 2019/2020 with Madeira PianoFest, under the artistic direction of Robert Andres, 2-10 November at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias.
For the fifth time, this emblematic event with its permanent space in the tourist cultural itineraries and contributing to the quality of Madeira’s destination offer, will delight the listeners with unique interpretations of a very varied repertoire by world-renowned artists.
Madeira PianoFest is held in co-production with the Funchal City Council, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture and the Porto Bay Group. All concerts start at 6 pm .
November 2nd, Saturday. Piano concerts by Mozart and Chopin. Stijn Claeys (Belgium), Dmytro Sukhovienko (Ukraine), “Atlântida” string quintet of the Madeira Classical Orchestra.
PianoFest’s opening concert will feature OCM’s “Atlântida” string quintet, in collaboration with ANSA. This concert will feature two piano and orchestra concerts, in a frequently used version, for the string quintet. Belgian pianist Stiyn Claeys won the Grand Prix at the International Art Competition in the 19th Century. 21 ”which took place in Madeira in February / March of this year, while Ukrainian pianist Dmytro Sukhovienko is laureate in several competitions and was considered by Philippe Entremont as“ the most promising talent I’ve heard in the last three decades ”.
