Madeira Rum will be promoted next week in Berlin, Germany, as part of the 13th Bar Convent Berlin Fair, through a masterclass organized by the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicraft Institute.

Several topics on Madeira Agricultural Rum will be addressed, namely “a unique set of factors ranging from geography, geology, climatic conditions of the Region, the varieties of sugar cane used in production, the method of production and as well as the know-how accumulated over the centuries, ”says the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries. Also highlighted will be a commented proof of Rum da Madeira by the producers Calheta Society of Engenhos, Florentino Izildo Ferreira – The King, J. Faria & Sons – North Engenhos and William Hinton – Engenho Novo da Madeira.

This Masterclass will be led by Ian Burrel, ‘The Rum Global Ambassador’, currently one of the world reference in the sector, who will share his experiences and knowledge of Madeira Rum with everyone attending the event.

It is recalled that Ian Burrel attended, in 2018, the II Madeira Rum Festival, having visited all Madeira Rum producers.

In addition to the masterclass, producer ‘William Hinton – Engenho Novo da Madeira’ will also be present at the event, with his own stand.

Since its inception in 2007, the Convent Bar Berlin has been one of the leading international fairs for the bar and beverage industry. This year, Berlin once again welcomes the brands and professionals of the area, and the event is assumed to be unique, bringing together renowned brands and more handcrafted brands, providing an enriching experience for visitors.

Over the two days of the fair, around 9,000 visitors are expected to exchange contacts, conduct business and acquire new product knowledge and innovations.

The implementation of this action is co-financed by 85% from Community funds provided by the Madeira 14-20 Program, the remainder being borne by the regional budget.
