The first oceanic cruise ship built in Portugal arrived today at 6:15 am in Funchal.
The World Explorer vessel, capable of carrying 200 passengers, began sailing in August this year and is now debuting in Madeira, a voyage that originates in Lisbon and ends in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands.
The ship today calls at Funchal Port and is docked at North Pier until 4 pm. It is prepared to sail in polar waters up to one meter thick with ice and measures 126 meters in length.
It is the smallest of the three cruise ships expected today in the Port of Funchal, with MSC Poesia and Celebrity Silhouette about to arrive.
