A busy month of November regarding the movement of cruise ships in the port of Funchal.
At this time, Funchal Bay receives three ships, with special emphasis on Marella Explorer 2, the latest acquisition of the Marella Cruises fleet. Launched in April in the UK market, this is the company’s first fully adult-only vessel.
The Marella Explorer can hold about 1800 passengers and has some ‘pampering’ that set it apart from the rest, such as a golf bar, which includes two simulators and another champagne themed bar.
In the port of Funchal are still AIDAstella, which is the first of four calls that will make this month, as well as Koningsdam, the Holland America Line.
In total there are close to 10,000 people visiting Funchal aboard the three ships.
AIDAstella came from Las Palmas, with 2216 passengers and 600 crew members, leaving tomorrow at 8 am to Lanzarote.
The Koningsdam arrived from Malaga with 3000 passengers and 1500 crew. Departs in the afternoon to Fort Lauderdale, USA.
The Marella Explorer 2 came from Gibraltar and on board, it carries 1710 passengers and 763 crew. At 6 pm, the journey continues to Saint John´s in the Caribbean.
