The yellow wind and sea-wave warnings have been anticipated, which will be in effect today from 3 pm in the first case and at 9 pm in the second, remaining the same until 6 am on Friday.

Thus the island is under yellow warning due to the north wind, which may reach gusts of 100 km/h in the mountainous regions from 3 pm on Wednesday, and the north and south coast of Madeira, as well as the Porto Santo, from 18 hours, with gusts up to 80 km/h.

Under yellow warning also due to the sea, with waves of 4 to 5 meters from the North, will be the North coast and Porto Santo from 9 pm today, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere.

In the remaining weather forecast for today, rely on mostly cloudy skies, light showers in the northern slopes and highlands, and from the afternoon onwards, the rain will be more intense and persistent in these areas.

The wind starts light to moderate from the northern quadrant, but as mentioned will increase in intensity, becoming moderate to strong from 30 to 45 km/h from mid-afternoon with gusts up to 80 km / h. In the highlands the gusts can even reach 100 km/h from late afternoon.
