As part of the instructional trip of the students of the Submarine Instruction Center, the NRP Tridente made a stop last Saturday in Ponta Delgada, Azores.
The NRP Trident was built at the German Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft shipyards in Kiel and was lived this morning by a group of Madeira entities.
The low acoustic, electromagnetic and thermal signature makes it one of the world’s most hidden conventional submarines, undetectable without surface means, equipped with state-of-the-art complex sensors with trained operators under favorable environmental conditions.
Since its increase in force in 2010, it has been carrying out various surveillance missions of the maritime area of national interest and participated in several national, international, European Union and NATO exercises.
No details given on what time it may be open to the public tomorrow.
