A frontal crash between two light cars early Wednesday afternoon resulted in injuries to two occupants. The accident happened just outside the Cota 40 tunnel, towards Funchal-Lido.
The two victims resulting from this collision – a woman in shock and a man with a nosebleed – were initially rescued by a Red Cross member passing by.
Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene to take the injured to hospital.
