PEDRO RAMOS WANTS TO SEE ALL THE MASKS DISTRIBUTED IN THE FIRST HALF OF MAY

The regional secretary for Health and Civil Protection wants the process of delivering the masks to the home to be completed in the first half of May.

He said that the distribution has already been made in three municipalities, more specifically Câmara de Lobos, Funchal and Porto Santo.

Unbelievable that this is taking so long, and pretty much a joke as they said they would be delicedcto everyone with a couple of weeks.

So they were meant to be mandatory since last Wednesday in public places with many people, so I guess this is not the case anymore.

I think I could have done a better job on a push bike… ? ? ? ?

  1. Well, we are in Funchal and no masks have arrived here. I shopped at Pingo Doce yesterday with no mask and wasn’t questioned about not having one. Just a alcohol spray on hands before going in and no problems at all. I see lots of people on buses not wearing them and thought the requirement was mandatory for people working in places dealing face to face with the general public, but only advisory and not compulsory for the general public.

  2. In Reids Gardens we are 40+ apartments. We get two masks between more than 100 people. They deliver 2 masks per letter box. We have one letter box for all the condominiums.
    Strange!

  3. I guess the mail delivery isn’t as great as the government thought. They’re on the same streets every day. What is the problem guys??????? That 4 day record could stop just because someone didn’t have a mask. Personally we went out and bought our own.

  4. There is a uniform shop here on Ajuda & I went in last week because someone told me they sell masks. They were taking orders but told me it would be 3 weeks before I could get one because they were making them for the government. So they would be only one of many businesses making them & it will still take another two weeks.

  5. Just to say that we live in Câmara de lobos and even though we have to stay at home, we obviously missed the moment of mask distribution. …

  6. We must be very fortunate here in Porto Santo, they were delivered middle of last week. 80% of people were wearing them shopping in Pingo Doce. Didn’t see them being worn by Farrobo staff working on roundabout but all other people working had them, some like CTT and the Gas delivery driver had face shields and gloves.

  8. Every body should take a step back and think about the people who are making these masks – are they used to making mass production ! I would say no. I worked in garment manufacturing all of my working life and know the smallest things are the hardest to make and may be they are not set up to make thousands every day – bare with them and we will all get them, I have been shopping this week and did not get asked to wear a mask – I think that wearing a mask will be more important later this year when there are more people about . No masks delivered to Machico

  9. We bought masks last week from the pharmacy at back of The Forum (near CR7 shop) €5 each.
