PCP questions Government about aid promised during the security fence

The PCP denounced today, through a communiqué, the defaults of the Regional Government regarding the health fence workers, those who were locked down in Câmara de Lobos, who have not yet received the promised aid, and demands the “immediate taking of measures to give effect to the promises made” to “guarantee the remuneration due to the workers concerned ”.

Miguel Albuquerque guaranteed, at the beginning of May, the payment to 100% of public and private workers who were prevented from working, during the period in which the sanitary fence was in force in the parish of Câmara de Lobos. A measure also extended to those who lived outside the parish, but whose workplace was within the confined area.

However, the PCP is aware that “several workers still do not receive the remuneration to which they should be entitled”, through Social Security, regretting the attitude of the Regional Government that “promised, but did not deliver”.
