The team of the Laboratory of the Clinical Pathology Service of the Health Service of RAM, counted, on September 17, the processing of 100 896 samples for PCR test to Covid-19.
The collection of samples took place in different environments, among which we can highlight the Testing Center at Madeira International Airport, with the counting of 58192 test to Covid-19.
In addition to this operation, we can also highlight the tests carried out on the school community, professionals and home users, health professionals, firefighters, home helpers, prison and forest guards, among others.
The threshold for the 100,000 tests carried out in the Region was thus surpassed. The work carried out by the Clinical Pathology laboratory team led by the medical specialist in the field of Clinical pathology, Graça Andrade, is part of a much wider and multidisciplinary group, essential for the processing of the samples, such as the teams working in the area of collection of the samples. harvests in the community, at airports, and all those who work in the area of management, acquisition and planning of this entire operation.
It should be remembered that since February 29, 2020, the Laboratory of the Clinical Pathology Service of SESARAM performs the processing of PCR tests to covid-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, in a fast and safe way.
