COVID-19: 10 NEW CASES IN THE REGION

The Institute of Health Administration has updated information on the epidemiological situation of covid-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Until October 7, 1717 notifications of suspected cases of COVID-19 were counted in RAM, of which 1460 were not confirmed.

Today there are 10 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 257 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. These are 10 imported cases, 6 from the United Kingdom; 2 from Lisbon and Tagus Valley, 1 from France and 1 from Poland.

It should be noted that 1 of the positive cases confirmed today concerns a health professional who, having been absent from the RAM, was tested at the airport after returning and waited for the result at his home, without any contact with the health services.

There are no new recovered cases to report. The region continues to account for 174 recovered cases of COVID19. There are 83 active cases, of which 74 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at Madeira Airport and 9 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 49 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 33 in their own accommodation and 1 patient is in hospital at the Multipurpose Unit dedicated to COVID-19 at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.

To date, 19235 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various counties in the region, using the MadeiraSafe application, 8680 of these people are under active surveillance.

There are also 5 new situations to be reported that are being studied by the health authorities, all identified in the screening operation implemented at Madeira airport. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

The contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) total 13302, plus 40 calls in the last 24 hours.

The total number of visits by the psychological monitoring line of IASAUDE, IP-RAM (291 212 399) is now 2258, with 186 people accompanied by the professionals of this institute.
