FOUR STUDENTS AND TWO EMPLOYEES ACTIVATE CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR FIVE SCHOOLS IN THE REGION

Two educational establishments in Funchal, two in Câmara de Lobos and one in Ponta do Sol found themselves facing positive cases of covid-19 today.

Following a positive test, two EBS Ponta do Sol employees are in confinement.

In Câmara de Lobos, an EBS student Dr. Luís Maurílio da Silva Dantas (Carmo) tested positive and placed a class of 19 students in a non-face-to-face class, until otherwise indicated by the health authorities. At EB23 da Torre, a student also tested positive as a result of contact with a person outside the school, with the class of 15 students being in a classroom-based regime, also until otherwise indicated by the health authorities.

In Funchal, a student from Colégio de Santa Teresinha tested positive, but, as informed by the Regional Education Secretariat, the student in question has not been attending school since 17 November. However, a class of 25 students and a teacher are on a non-face-to-face basis, unless otherwise indicated by the health authorities. At EB1 / PE da Pena, a student also maintained close contact with a positive case, outside the school community. Then, as indicated by the health authorities, a class of 20 students, four teachers and three employees are in confinement.
