Today there are 18 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 1039 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory.
These are 5 imported cases (3 from the United Kingdom, 1 from Poland and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 13 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
Regarding the cases confirmed today, there are:
– Two cases in the area of education, dealing with 2 professionals working in educational establishments in the municipalities of Machico and Funchal. The contingency plan for these establishments is already active.
– Two cases in the health area, 1 hospitalised patient identified within the scope of in-hospital patient screening and 1 higher education student with clinical training activity at SESARAM, EPERAM, with contact with a positive case. The contingency plan of the establishments associated with the cases is already active.
– A case of 1 security forces professional. The contingency plan of the respective institution is active and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
There are 8 recovered patients, and a total of 282 active cases.
