Vaccines are already at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça

The first vaccines against covid-19, which arrived in Madeira at the end of Wednesday night, are already packaged at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, in Funchal.

After the transport was carried out under the escort of approximately two dozen agents of the Public Security Police (PSP), on a trip that lasted about 15 minutes, these first doses will be kept in two deep freezers.

The TAP plane that brought the first 9,750 doses of the covid-19 vaccine to Madeira landed late last night. The flight (TP1693), which took off from Lisbon Airport at 10:20 pm, arrived before midnight.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the regional health secretary, Pedro Ramos, among many health professionals, waited and marked the moment.

It should be remembered that the first vaccines will be administered in Madeira, starting at noon today, at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. Miguel Albuquerque will be present.
