117 new Covid-19 cases for Madeira

Today there are 117 new positive cases to report, so Madeira now counts 3335 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the regional territory.

These are 4 imported cases (1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, 1 from Spain, 1 from Switzerland and 1 from Venezuela) and 113 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases. Epidemiological investigations of the cases are still ongoing.

The Regional Health Directorate reports 107 more recovered cases, so the region now counts 1799 cases recovered from Covid-19.

Also today, as we have already noted, there are 4 more new deaths to report since the last bulletin, Madeira counts, to date, a total of 27 deaths associated with Covid-19.

In total there are 1509 active cases, of which 117 are imported cases and 1392 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 62 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 1376 in their own accommodation and 71 people are hospitalized (69 in Multipurpose Units and 2 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19).

There are 540 new cases that are currently being studied by the health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

The total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) now amounts to 31,218 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291 212 399) counts to date 2611 calls.

Regarding the active surveillance of positive case contacts, 2,244 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
