JET 2 PROLONGS SUSPENSION OF OPERATIONS FOR MADEIRA

This news came before the news of the National Lockdown for the UK, so I guess they knew it was coming.

The company JET 2 decided to extend the suspension of flights and vacation packages to Madeira until the 11th of February.

JET 2 understands that the continuous increase in positive cases in the United Kingdom requires new restrictions and, despite waiting for the evolution of the epidemiological situation, believes that the resumption of the operation in Madeira could happen on February 12th.

  2. Everyone needs to stop travelling until the vaccine is rolled out to all citizens world wide. It’s sad that Madeira is having it now when they acted quickly during the first wave. But people.coming into UK do not isolate and don’t act responsible enough. Keep safe Madeira.

  3. Sad news indeed – 3rd enforced cancellation to your beautiful island in the last 10 months!!
    Totally agree with Pamela’s previous comment that if you don’t need to travel, don’t, until vaccines are readily available to everyone.
    Keep up your great work advising about life in Madeira, and, more importantly, keep safe!!

  4. This may be the wrong place but would appreciate some help / info. We were due to fly to Madeira last Sunday, I had booked for tests at airport on arrival and down loaded the Madeira track and trace app. Obviously the flight was cancelled, but im getting several emails and alerts on my phone to ask if I have symptoms. Is there any way to cancel the trip in the app , I have logged off the app but still get alerts and emails

  5. Just had a cancellation e-mail this morning for my flight to the UK at the end of the month. It’s not ideal as I just managed to get my residence by the skin of my teeth before the end of the year and was hoping to return to the UK to collect more of my stuff to supplement what is otherwise a somewhat sparse existence right now – and stuff that I need to work remotely. On the other hand, had I returned earlier I’d be stuck indoors for 7 weeks and outdoor exercise would be constrained by the cold and the snow, so I suppose a “Desert Island Discs” existence isn’t so bad!
