There are 48 new cases of infection to be reported this Sunday in Madeira. These are five imported cases (two from Poland, two from France and one from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 43 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts.
With more than 78 recovered cases reporting, the Region now counts 1,266 active cases, of which 26 are imported cases and 1,240 are of local transmission. Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 44 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (37 people in Multipurpose Units and seven in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19) and 17 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
