Madeira today registered 72 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 6,621 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the regional territory.
According to information on the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), sent by the Regional Health Directorate, these new cases are an imported case from Poland and 71 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with positive case contacts. Epidemiological investigations are still ongoing.
It should also be noted that today there are 87 more recovered cases to report, so RAM now counts 5,006 cases recovered from Covid-19.
Reference also to a total of 62 deaths associated with Covid-19, to date in Madeira.
Regarding active cases, there are now 1,553, of which 34 are imported cases and 1,519 are locally transmitted.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 47 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (42 people in Multipurpose Units and 5 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 37 people are in isolation at a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
Note also the fact that, in total, there are 181 situations that are currently under consideration by health authorities, which are related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
