UK tightens control, hotel quarantine in place

I don’t think anyone from Madeira will be returning back to the UK anytime soon.

Matt Hancock has just announced the new quarantine rules for any UK or Irish residents returning from red lusted countries, which Portugal is one, including Madeira and the Azores.

  1. In Scotland it’s not just RED countries you have to Quarantine from Even if you cone in via Heargeow or Manchester they know your Home address Hope this doesnt last too long for us All ?

  2. About time too. An infinite number of travellers have entered the UK since March 2020 with virtually zero health checks. We have knowingly imported the virus here.

    Given that Taiwan ( 20m people) sealed itself off from day one and has suffered 10 deaths v UK 110K and rising. One wonders why the UK has been so lax.

    But a dramatic change here with the vaccination campaign. Brilliantly managed . Having had my first jab ! As ever , attempts by the media to question the efficacy of the UK Oxford vaccine ! Heigh ho.

    But one needs load of tools to fight this plague of which compulsory quarantine and penalties for non compliance – is one of those tools.

    One feels much more hopeful and confident now. And hopefully a return to Madeira when protected by our second jab!
