45 new cases and 34 more recoveries in Madeira

Early again for the case numbers today.

There are 45 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Madeira. These are two imported cases, coming from Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the North Region, respectively, and the remaining 43 cases are of local transmission, most of them already associated with positive case contacts.

With another 34 recovered cases to report, the Region now has 662 active cases, of which 19 are imported cases and 643 are locally transmitted.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 26 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (22 people in Multipurpose Units and four in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19), with 10 people being isolated in a hotel unit dedicated, remaining the rest in own accommodation.

In total, there are 118 situations that are currently being considered by health authorities, these being related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.
