The Captaincy of the Port of Funchal issued two notices this afternoon, one of bad weather, the other of strong maritime unrest for the Madeira archipelago.
The notice of severe sea turmoil will be in effect until 6 pm local time on Friday, March 26th.
As for the warning of bad weather, this means, according to that maritime authority, strong wind 8 (63 to 74 km per hour) or higher starting in the NE quadrant.
The Captaincy recommends that the owners or shipowners of the vessels take the necessary precautions so that they remain in the ports of refuge.
Looks like the bad weather will continue through the weekend, with wind, rain and the possibility of thunderstorms.
