Madeira has more than 59 cases in the daily report of DRS

The Autonomous Region currently has 59 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, one of which is imported (France) and 58 are of local transmission. Madeira now accounts for a total of 7,537 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

According to the epidemiological report of the Regional Health Directorate, released this evening, today there are 82 more recovered cases, thus totaling 6,677 people recovered from COVID-19. There are still 795 people still active, 17 of which are imported cases and 778 are locally transmitted.

DRS also says that there are 50 people admitted to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, 42 of whom are in Multipurpose Units and 8 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19, with 15 people still performing isolation in a dedicated hotel unit and the remaining in isolation in their own accommodation.

“In total, there are 134 situations that are currently under consideration by health authorities, these being related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing” guarantees the DRS.

As for the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, “1,101 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo”, he stresses. “With regard to the surveillance of travelers, 3,872 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application”.

To date, “the total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) now amounts to 41,284 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Directorate (291 212 399) counts to date 3,069 calls”.

Continuing in this daily report, it should be noted that in relation to “Nuclear Acid Amplification Molecular Tests (RT-PCR) for screening COVID-19 carried out in RAM, it is noted that in the context of the operation of screening travelers in ports and airports from RAM, there is a cumulative total of 165,178 tests to COVID-19 carried out until 5 pm today. In total, to date, the samples processed in the Clinical Pathology laboratory of SESARAM, EPERAM amount to 316,167 “.
