The rain certainly arrived during the night, and the heaviest fell between 7-8am this morning.

The depression is fast moving and should clear the islands later today.

Hi Tobi, can you do me another favour, I received a phone call on Monday Evening telling me that ALL flights from Lisbon to London are cancelled until April 18th, i was due to fly out APR 3rd and one of my fellow hotel guests was due to fly out APR 1st, so we had a bit of a panic but managed to book tickets FUNCHAL/ZURICH/LONDON for Sat April the 3rd, the reason I am asking you to do me a favour is because 2 other fellow guests that were due to fly home via Lisbon on the 8th April have had no messages that their flight was cancelled, which leaves me to believe that some people might NOT be aware that their flight is cancelled, especially people that might be living in their apartments etc.
    PS FUN/ZUR/LON is only available on Saturdays otherwise it’s FUN/LIS/ZUR overnight stay then London

  2. Can I too ask a favour? If anyone is in Funchal and near the ferry offices could they possibly nip round onto Rua da Praia and see if Bar O Avô is ok? I was worried it may have got flooded during the recent storm and that street is very low down and suffered terribly in the 2010 flood.
