REGIONAL GOVERNMENT MAINTAINS CURRENT RESTRICTIVE MEASURES FOR EASTER

The President of the Regional Government said today that the containment measures currently in force in Madeira are “adequate” for the Easter period, with no further restrictions foreseen.

“Right now we have the appropriate measures for the Easter period,” said Miguel Albuquerque, on the sidelines of a visit to the John dos Passos Cultural Center, where the Digital Nómadas pilot project is taking place. “” We are not in confinement, we have the pandemic in containment. We are evaluating the second incubation cycle, which starts next Monday, and depending on the results, we will make the decisions, but in principle there will be no major changes. “

The minister said, therefore, that the prohibition of travel between municipalities should not be implemented, as long as containment of the pandemic is maintained. “This is always open, but we will not decree by decree,” he said, stressing, however,
“Porto Santo is very susceptible to small outbreaks, and that is why we are going to maintain control, to safeguard the population and the economy”, he stressed.
