MIGUEL ALBUQUERQUE DEVALUES CONTESTATION TO THE NEW MADEIRA BRAND

The President of the Regional Government today devalued the challenge that has been the target of the new image of the Madeira brand, arguing that the work was “studied” in conjunction with two of the largest international companies in the industry.

On the sidelines of a visit to the Igreja Matriz de São Jorge, in Santana, where requalification works took place at the Museu do Barroco, the governor was asked to comment on the controversy generated around the new image , which even motivated reactions on the part of figures as the former president of the Regional Government, Alberto João Jardim .

“Is there any controversy? There are people on social networks who don’t like it”, devalued Miguel Albuquerque. “It is democracy, everyone has their own opinion.”

However, the head of the Madeiran Executive stressed that the work was “studied, in conjunction with regional tourism agents, with international agents, and two of the best international companies of its kind”.

Albuquerque also stressed that “the image is flexible” and “has a series of applications and an underlying philosophy that aims at an objective, and that objective will be realized”.

“People are free to express their opinion. Some like it, some don’t like it, some are more conservative, others are less conservative. This is normal”, he considered, before concluding: “We have to follow the right path, and this is to prepare this new cycle of resumption of tourism, with all the tools and adequate mechanisms to be able to attract a larger number of tourists to Madeira.
