The use of a mask is once again mandatory in open or closed environments in Madeira

The use of a mask is again mandatory, as well as the distance of at least 1.5 meters and the disinfection of hands. The measurements are valid for open or closed spaces throughout the Region.

The contingency measure against covid-19 was announced recently by Miguel Albuquerque.

  1. Glue that mask on it will be a longtime before you can remove it people with a population with around 85 % vaccinated something don’t add up here ? Maybe the vaccines are no good for nothing?

  2. You will likely ignore all that I say but here goes.
    Covid is here to stay – it will not go away – ever. Like influenza it will kill people seasonally no matter what we do. Vaccination will save many lives but it will not save everyone. No vaccine ever invented is 100% effective. The various Covid vaccines are around 80-85% effective, which means out of every 100 people vaccinated 15-20 will not be immunised. Vaccination protects the people vaccinated, it does not prevent infection or transmission. There has not been a single double blind trial of face masks anywhere so the jury is still out on their effectiveness. The average age of death from Covid is 82. Young people are largely unaffected by Covid infection. Vaccinating young people especially children is simply pointless.
    If I am talking nonsense then just look at Israel, Sweden, Florida and California.
    Israel and California are highly vaccinated and restricted and Covid is far from defeated. Sweden and Florida have removed all restrictions and they have achieved herd immunity.

  4. It seems the more people comply, the more the measures become restrictive. Before – just wear a mask. Then, get vaccinated so we don’t have to wear masks all the time. Now, oh no, being vaccinated (almost the whole population!!) is not enough. You have to be tested weekly to do anything. AND wear a mask. Is the point to see how compliant people are to control every aspect of their life in public and become increasingly demanding?

  5. What is the problem of flowing the rules and use mask ? I don’t have a problem and also you are protecting your heath and despite be full vaccinated I never did take the mask even in the street . If people did get vaccinated and flow the rules and did use the masks maybe the cases in certain countries didn’t increase so much .

  6. Masks in an outside setting are almost completely useless (as stated by WHO) and act simply as virtue pointing for those who think they are effective. Mandatory mask wearing outside is sufficient reason for cancelling our planned six week stay during December/January regardless of other restrictions.
