BEST ENGLISH RESEARCH AND RESCUE SHIP PASSES THROUGH MADEIRA

One of the most modern scientific research and rescue ships in the United Kingdom and the world, named after the Englishman Sir David Attenborough, it will dock this Thursday in the bay of Funchal, where a group of crew will enter.

According to information provided by the Funchal Port Authority to JM, it is the English scientific research ship Sir David Attenborough and is disembarking five passengers and embarking three crew members. She will remain moored at the Port of Funchal from 4 pm to 6 pm. Early afternoon the ship passed the coast of Madeira before docking at the Port of Funchal.

The Sir David Attenborough was a major investment by the British government in polar infrastructure that keeps the ship at the forefront of world-leading research in the Antarctic and Arctic. It has huge spaces with specialized scientific facilities, with instruments and laboratories that allow multidisciplinary science work. The ship is a leader in studies and research to study the ocean, seabed, ice and atmosphere.

It also has marine robotics and remotely operated vehicles, which collect data from the deep ocean. The ship’s crew consists of 30 professionals, and can have up to 60 scientists on board.
