A driver, aged between 30 and 40 years old, was the victim of the accident that happened recently on the highway, towards Funchal-Ribeira Brava.
According to a source from the Firemen of Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol, when the man was transported to the hospital, he was conscious and would be polytraumatized.
The road accident, which occurred inside the highway tunnel, in the direction of Funchal-Ribeira Brava, caused a strong traffic congestion.
Two firefighter vehicles (an ambulance and an extrication vehicle) were sent to the scene.
