The closure of Praca do Mar (PracaCR7) caused a bit of upset when it was announced, the planned closure was going to be from 23.00 – 08.00 each day.
The Development Corporation that has control over the space has now decided, along with talking to local businesses, that the square will be closed from 02.00 – 08.00 each day.
The reason for the closure has been said for health and security, and frequent acts of vandalism, but most people believe the reason is because of the hotel itself and its guests.
