Ponta do Sol ready for summer.

The bathing season in the village of Ponta do Sol starts Monday with the ‘opening’ of the beach that begins to be watched by two lifeguard swimmers until 9th of September, every day between 11am and 8pm.

New this year is the reduction of the length of beach guarded by 100 meters, since the zone that is located under the old squadron of the PSP, to the west of the mouth of the river, is unstable due to the fall of stones.

This year, 14 beach umbrellas were placed on the beach. The support facilities, which were devastated by the bad weather of March 1, are recovered for the use of all those who want to enjoy the beach of the county.

The solarium area has also undergone improvements, being now with new paths in wood.

The beach of Ponta do Sol will be under surveillance until September 9, in an investment in user safety that amounted to 10 thousand euros.

Meanwhile, work continues on the regularisation of the beaches of Madalena do Mar and Lugar de Baixo, which the municipality intends to complete by the end of this month.
