Windy and unsettled

The Autonomous Region of Madeira will be on yellow alert, the third less severe, from the end of Tuesday because of wind, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA, yellow warnings were issued from 9pm on Tuesday to 3am on Thursday for the north and south coasts of Madeira, where moderate to strong north-west winds are expected, with bursts 80 kilometers per hour.

For the mountainous regions it is expected strong east / northwest wind gusting to 95 kmh.

During the same period the yellow warning will also apply in Porto Santo, where moderate to strong winds are expected in the Northwest with gusts up to 70 kmh.

This could well affect flights at the airport, and the weather also looks unsettled for the next few days with showers at times.

I will keep the blog updated if any problems arise from this, so be sure to keep checking.
