Amera stays overnight in Madeira with 570 passengers

The Port of Funchal is receiving two ships today that have chosen to spend the night in Madeira. The first is the Borealis, which is scheduled to depart at 8pm today, after arriving in Funchal yesterday. The Amera arrived this morning and will only depart at 6pm this Friday.

The two ships are carrying a total of 2,639 people, including passengers and crew.

The Amera arrived from La Palma with 570 passengers and 416 crew, then heading to Torquay, in the south of England, on this 21-night cruise, starting in Bremenhaven, with stops in Guernsay, A Coruña, Porto, Lisbon, Lanzarote, La Palma, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma again, this time in Funchal, followed by Torquay, Dover, Ijmuiden and return to the port of origin. The return to Madeira will take place on 23 November.

Borealis has Lisbon as its destination, as part of a 14-night itinerary, with stops in five Portuguese ports, three of which are in the islands of Madeira and the Azores. This trip ends on August 14th in Dover.
