We got as far as circling hoping for a lull in the wind yesterday, diverted to Faro and then back to Edinburgh, total holiday cancellation for all onboard. Many previous visitors onboard saying last time, new destination required.

Transavia HV6629 from Amsterdam rescheduled departure to Funchal time from 6:05 to 18:05. Return HV6630 will arrive in Amsterdam at 2:05 at midnight! I feel sorry for the passenger, a very, very long day and trip.

Does this program require the airlines to absorb the cost or does the government reimburse the difference in airfare? If it’s the latter, how does this negatively impact the airlines in any way?

This situation is clearly showing what is happening, if an important number of people believe populists, give them their vote, hoping that leaving the EU will be the promised advantage.
I am very sorry, but I have absolutely no sympathy. Anyone who voted “Leave” back then can’t stand in line at the EU border long enough.
