Madeira with 42 new cases

According to the bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate on the epidemiological situation of Covid-19, the Autonomous Region of Madeira today has a total of 42 new positive cases.

These are 17 imported cases (9 from the United Kingdom, 3 from Venezuela, 2 from Mexico, 1 from the Netherlands, 1 from Angola and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region) and 25 cases of local transmission, in their mostly associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases previously identified.

Regarding the cases confirmed today, there is a case in the health area, being a health professional from SESARAM, EPERAM, with contact with a positive case, outside the work context.

The bulletin also adds that today there are 28 more recovered cases to report, so the region now counts 931 cases recovered from Covid-19. As for deaths, RAM has so far accounted for a total of 10 associated with the pandemic.

Until December 22, 2,749 notifications of suspected cases from Covid-19 were recorded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, of which 1,460 were not confirmed.

With regard to active cases, these are now 348, of which 110 are imported cases and 238 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 36 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 289 in their own accommodation and 23 people are currently hospitalized, 22 in the Multipurpose Unit and 1 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19.
