The situation happened this Monday around 11:40 am.
A man was injured this morning after he threw himself off a wall, the height of which was not possible to ascertain, to escape an swarm of bees, in Lamaceiros, in Santana.
According to JM, the victim, around 30 years old, is not allergic to bees, but ended up getting injured in the knee after the apparent fall.
Santana Volunteer Firefighters were on site to transport the victim to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
I have seen and heard swarms of bees or wasps when walking the Levadas. So something to keep an eye out for, I guess they are pretty active all year round here?
