In the Port of Funchal, today, February 21, there are the ships: ‘ Spirit of Discovery’, which docked at around 11 am; the ‘ Iona’, which arrived early in the morning and the ‘ Mein Schiff 1′, which docked on Monday night.
“The three ships are moving 12,402 people, of which 9,191 are passengers”, revealed APRAM – Administration of Ports of the Autonomous Region of Madeira in a press release.
The ‘ Iona’ and the ‘ Spirit of Discovery’ are traveling along the so-called Atlantic corridor, on 14-night cruises, which began on February 17th and ended on March 2nd.
The giant ‘ Iona’ brings 5,246 passengers and 1,678 crew on this trip to Madeira. The ship left Southampton on February 17th and Funchal is its first stop, followed by Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Cadiz, Lisbon and again, Southampton, where this cruise ends.
The ‘ Spirit of Discovery’ travels with 972 passengers and 502 crew and stays in Madeira for 26 hours. The ship came from Portsmouth and the first stop was in Funchal. She follows La Palma, where she sails at 1 pm tomorrow, then Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Ferrol, then returning to her home port, in Portsmouth.
The “Mein Schiff 1′ ends its 41-hour layover, in Funchal, this afternoon, at 4:30 pm, the time at which it should depart for the Canaries, with 2,973 passengers and 1,031 crew on board. This ship is traveling the CAI route, ‘Cruise Atlantic Islands’, on a 7-night cruise, which will also call at La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, the port of embarkation and disembarkation of this cruise that ends next Sunday .
